The admission of four MBBS students at King George’s Medical University (KGMU) was cancelled after they could not clear exams in over a decade’s time.

King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow has revoked the admission of four students who have failed the MBBS exams for over 20 years. The students, who were admitted to the university in 1997, 1999, 2001, and 2006, respectively, were unable to clear the exams despite being given several opportunities.

According to KGMU spokesperson Dr. Sudhir Singh, the students were also debarred from the campus for failing to attend classes for all subjects they were to take the exams for. The new rules were introduced by KGMU a year ago and were approved by the executive council.

“The rules have been made according to directions from National Medical Commission (NMC). Students who do not fulfill rules are facing action,” said Dr. Singh.

The decision to revoke the students’ admission has been met with mixed reactions. Some people have praised the university for taking action, while others have criticized the decision, saying that it is unfair to the students who have been struggling to pass the exams.

The NMC has set a 10-year time limit for students to complete their MBBS degree. After 10 years, students who have not passed the exams are required to leave the medical college.

DU to Release First Seat Allocation List on August 2

The Delhi University (DU) will release the first seat allocation list for undergraduate admissions on August 2 at 5 pm. Students will be able to check their allotted course and college on the official DU website, du.ac.in.

The correction window for already registered candidates will open on July 26 at 10 am and close on July 28 at 4:59 pm. During this time, candidates will be able to edit their preferences.

The DU admission process is based on the CUET (Common University Entrance Test) scores. The CUET results were released on July 12.

The university has said that it will conduct three rounds of seat allocation. The second round of seat allocation will be released on August 7, and the third round will be released on August 14.

DU Correction Window: Only Fields According to Registration Fee Can Be Edited

The Delhi University (DU) has announced that the correction window for already registered candidates will open on July 26 at 10 am and close on July 28 at 4:59 pm. During this time, candidates will only be able to edit the fields according to the registration fee already paid by the applicant.

For example, if a candidate has paid the registration fee for a B.A. program, they will only be able to edit the fields related to their B.A. application. They will not be able to edit the fields related to any other program.

Once the candidate has finished editing their application, they must click on the “Submit and Lock” button. If they do not submit their application before the deadline, their details will be automatically frozen at 5 pm on July 28.

DU Seat Allocation Schedule: Final Payment Deadlines and Upgradation Window

The Delhi University (DU) has released the seat allocation schedule for undergraduate admissions. The first seat allocation list will be released on August 2 at 5 pm. Candidates will have time till 4:59 pm on August 10 to finalize their payment against the first seat allocation list. The window to upgrade will be open from 5 pm of August 11 till 5 pm of August 12.

The second seat allocation list will release at 5 pm on August 14. Candidates will have time till August 20 to finalize their payment, and the upgradation window will be open from August 21 till 22.

Here is a summary of the important dates:

  • First seat allocation list: August 2

  • Upgradation window for first seat allocation: August 11-12

DU to Release Third Seat Allocation List on August 23

The Delhi University (DU) will release the third seat allocation list for undergraduate admissions on August 23 at 5 pm. Candidates will have time till August 27 to finalize their payment. After that, the university may announce more rounds subject to the availability of vacant seats, if any.

The varsity has also announced that classes for all BTech programmes will commence from August 16.

In addition to the schedule, DU has extended the deadline for Phase I and Phase II of CSAS undergraduate admissions till 4:59 pm on July 26. This means that candidates who have not yet registered for Phase I, or who have completed Phase I but have not provided their preferences, will still be able to do so. The CSAS portal will auto-lock the saved preferences at 5 pm on July 27. The correction window will also remain open till 4:59 pm on July 26.

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has issued the admit card for the Common Recruitment Process for Regional Rural Banks-XII (CRP-RRBs-XII) for the eligible candidates. Those who have applied for the IBPS RRB PO Prelims 2023 exam can now access their hall ticket on the official website, ibps.in.

To appear for the examination, candidates are required to carry a printed copy of their admit card along with a valid ID proof. The exams are scheduled to take place in August and September.

IBPS has just released the call letters for the Officer Scale I and Office Assistant (Multi-Purpose) examinations. Candidates will be selected based on their performance in both the preliminary online exam and the main examination. Upon shortlisting, candidates will be provisionally allocated positions based on their marks in the IBPS CRP RRB Main exam and the actual reported vacancies by the RRBs.

According to the notification on its website, the interviews for the selected candidates are scheduled to be conducted in November.

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts examinations – preliminary, main, and interview – to select candidates for the positions of Office Assistants and Officers Scale 1, 2, and 3 in Regional Rural Banks (RRBs).

Candidates Are allowed to download their admit cards until August 6th.

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) Biotechnology department has come a long way since its establishment in 2004. Today, the department has 4 major domains: Biological Sciences, Biomolecular Sciences, Computational Biology, and Biological Engineering. It also offers two integrated dual degree programs, Master of Science (MS) by research, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs with an MTech Clinical Engineering which is also a multi institutional program and MTech program Bioprocess Engineering.

The department has a regular faculty of 33 members and hosts nearly 330 UG students in dual degree programs, 60 masters level students (MTech/MS), 200 doctoral scholars (PhD), 30 postdoctoral scholars and project staff and 13 technical and administrative staff.

The department is well-equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including a biosafety level-3 laboratory, a flow cytometry facility, and a molecular biology core facility. The department also has strong research collaborations with other academic institutions and industry partners.

The IIT Madras Biotechnology department is committed to providing high-quality education and research in biotechnology. The department has produced many outstanding graduates who are now working in leading biotechnology companies and research institutes around the world.

The number of placed students in the Biotechnology department at IIT Madras has shown an asymmetrical trend in the last 5 years. In 2017-18, 34 students were placed, followed by a decrease to 26 students in 2018-19. However, the number of placed students increased to 38 in 2019-20, and then decreased again to 37 in 2020-21. In 2021-22, the number of placed students jumped drastically to 54.

The reasons for this asymmetrical trend are not clear, but it is likely due to a combination of factors, such as the state of the global economy, the popularity of biotechnology as a career choice, and the quality of the students graduating from the Biotechnology department at IIT Madras.

The increase in the number of placed students in 2021-22 is a positive sign for the future of biotechnology placements at IIT Madras. It suggests that the demand for biotechnology graduates is strong, and that the department is producing high-quality graduates who are in demand by employers.

In the 2021-22 placement season, the institute achieved a commendable placement percentage of 56%. Among the various departments, Biotechnology secured placements with a minimum package of Rs 10 lakh per annum, while the highest package offered reached an impressive Rs 35.22 lakh per annum.

As the 2022-23 placement season unfolded, it witnessed a remarkable line-up of top-notch recruiters, including prestigious companies such as Texas Instruments, Bajaj Auto, Qualcomm, JP Morgan Chase, Proctor & Gamble, Morgan Stanley, Graviton, Mckinsey and Company, and Cohesity.

The institute’s consistent efforts and collaboration with leading corporations have evidently contributed to a successful track record of placements, benefiting students across various disciplines.
